This Santa Fe Mentoring Paint-a-Long Program is truly unique, not only is Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico beautiful and very paintable but Santa Fe is the 2nd or 3rd largest Art Market in the County – this will allow us to combine painting and career building in a unique way.
From 4 PM to 6 PM we will meet for our first session on Sunday afternoon at the historic El Rey Inn – located on 1862 Cerrillos Road, 505-982-1931. www.elreyinnsantafe.com
At 4:30 PM Albert will give out painting location maps and important information on Plein Air Painting…as well as discuss details about the week’s schedule.
At 6:00 PM, we will have our first workshop dinner together (individual checks please) at the Pantry Restaurant, which is practically right next door at 1820 Cerrillos Road; They are open every day from 6:30 AM through 9 PM. The Pantry serves traditional northern New Mexican and American food and is an excellent local restaurant.

This map is from El Rey Inn to Albert’s Home/Studio, at 1109 Don Gaspar Ave.
Each morning we will all meet on location at 8:30 AM and paint no later than noon, and Albert will paint along with you.
From noon to 2:00 PM will be a lunch break (the large Whole Foods, on Cerrillos Road, right next door to the Sage Inn, at 725 Cerrillos Road, has an excellent selection of salads, soups & hot plates, to eat lunch there is it’s fast , delicious, very varied and reasonably priced), from 2 to 4 PM we will meet at Albert’s home and studio, located at 1109 Don Gaspar Ave. – which is in the South Capital District, for our daily critique and for eye-opening career building information.
From 4 to 7:00 PM, when the light is more beautiful and we are rested, we will paint our second painting of the day – in the afternoon Mr. Handell will paint along with you for the first hour or so and then give individual help at the easel (optional).
Our painting subject matter will vary from old tucked away adobe buildings, surrounded by magnificent old growth trees, to wide open high desert landscape with its incredible skies and…all the inspirational subject matter in between.

One of the many subjects at Calle La Pena – we will paint here
Our daily schedule varies slightly from day-to-day. For example…on Friday evenings here in Santa Fe, there are many Gallery Openings that Albert wishes to share with you. We can all gather from 5 to 7 PM and experience these special Santa Fe Gallery Openings.
On Saturday morning, from noon to 5 PM, we will start by meeting at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, 217 Johnson St. – 505 995 0785. From there Albert will give you a personal tour of Galleries/Museums that he does not want you to miss and which he is personally familiar with.
At 6 PM we will meet at a different local restaurant the Guadalupe Café, 422 Old Trail, 505-982-9762, for our final farewell dinner.

Yes, I want to enroll in the Albert Handell Paint-A-Long Mentoring Program, in Santa Fe!
How do I go about this?
Enrollment is strictly limited and spaces for our program will fill up quickly. So don’t hesitate to reserve your space. This program will be closed after the 14th. Sign up, and a waiting list will be started. To sign up, please contact the Albert Handell Studio at 505-983-8373, or if you prefer email your information, and tuition deposit with any credit card number and expiration date (MC//Visa/America Express Card) to albert@alberthandell.com. MOST ARTISTS PREFER DOING THIS OVER THE PHONE. The tuition for this Paint-a Long Mentoring Program is $975.00. A non-refundable deposit of $175.00 is required to register. If you prefer to pay by check, please call first to make sure that there is an opening before you mail in your check. Then make your check payable to Albert Handell and please mail it to:
Albert Handell
PO Box 9070
Santa Fe, NM 87504-9070
A receipt will be sent to you for your tuition deposit. We will appreciate receiving the $800.00 balance due on your tuition by April 24, 2012, two months before the first day of the workshop. Receiving the full tuition two months prior to the workshop will help us from overbooking.
Refund Policy:
After your tuition has been paid in full, a full refund minus $175.00 nonrefundable deposit is offered to you for any reason, at any time, until Sunday, June 10th 2012, two weeks prior to the first day of the program.
Due to the very rare and low artist/student ratio, no cash or credit card refunds can be offered after this date. But, if an emergency does arise and you can’t attend, no cash refund will be given, but you will receive an $800.00 tuition credit available for you to use at any Paint-A-Long Mentoring Program for the next two years.
The mentoring program is designed for those who want an “After Workshop” experience; it is open to any one, who has either taken a workshop with Mr. Handell, or has taken at least one workshop with an artist who gives painting workshops in Pastel or Oils.
Accommodations:
Santa Fe has a wide range of accommodations; all are good and vary in price. My first choice and recommendation for a reasonably priced and charming Inn are the accommodations at the El Rey Inn.
The El Rey Inn – has that special old Santa Fe charm (www.elreyinnsantafe.com), located at 1862 Cerrilos Rd., built in 1973 (when Cerrilos Rd. was considered outside of the city limits), you can make the reservations by phone 505-982-1931, or visit their website. There is a 10% discount for AAA or AARP, and also ask for their interesting promotional-EL REY PASSPORT- with this “EL Rey Passport” for every five nights you stay there the sixth night is free, it’s a bargain, please speak with Andrea Ellison, who is the general manager, or anyone who is at the desk-any problems with this please contact me.
Another Option is The Sage Inn (www.santafesageinn.com), located on 725 Cerrilos Road, is an other good deal for the price it is located right next door to our large Whole Foods Store (we also have a small Whole Foods Store, in a different part of town), you can reach the Sage Inn at 866-433-0335, or you can reserve you rooms online.
For a complete listing of other accommodations please view the Chamber of Commerce (www.santafechamber.com)
